Coaching and Speaking: Navigation Support for Business Owners in a Web 2.0 World
Coaching
I work with successful entrepreneurs who are ready to take their business to the next level, without getting burnt in the process.
One thing Olympic athletes and top business executives have in common is that they have coaches to help them perform consistently at a high level and overcome the barriers to success. Running a small business, being a solo entrepreneur can be just as challenging as running a major corporation. Different, sure, but in fact without much of the support the corporate high-flyers take for granted.
If you are used to being successful but right now are feeling blocked, or just want some wise coaching to help you access the capacity you know you have or deal more effectively with the “other people” challenges, and not flame out in the process, why not call me for a confidential, no obligation chat?
A Web 2.0 World
As if business owners and entrepreneurs did not have enough information overload already, now we are being told to get up to speed with blogging, podcasting, videocasting, social networking – the whole online, Web 2.0 (whatever that is) shooting match. Is is any wonder some business owners sometimes hanker for what now seem simpler days and simpler ways of doing business?
What if there was a coach who could help navigate this labyrinth? In non-technical language? With your business interests foremost, not technology for gee-whiz sake?
Over the past twenty years or so I have had to unravel the techie talk and get clear on what I need to know about IT, then about the Internet and more recently about blogging, podcasting, social networking and other “Web 2.0″ wonders, without being burdened by what might be interesting but is not going to make me a dollar.
Business people find that I’m able to explain in plain language what they have struggled to get explanations for – not so much technical explanations, but explanations that make sense for their business.
I get huge satisfaction out of helping people get clarity, not just about what’s happening in the Web space, but about how they can turn that to their own advantage as business people.
And I do know what I do not know. So if you or I figure out you do in fact need more technical know-how than I have, I can connect you with great people in the USA, Europe and Australasia, who will be able to help with whatever challenge you have.
If you would like a no-obligation, initial consultation on how blogging and other social computing tools and processes might help your business, why not email me now?
Speaking and Facilitating
Need a Speaker Who Will Not Drown Your Conference Delegates in Jargon?
What if there was a speaker who could engage your delegates in an interactive presentation about how blogging and all the rest of it could help their businesses? What if it made no difference whether there were twenty people or hundreds in the audience? And if that speaker was used to presenting to a range of age groups and people from various cultural backgrounds?
My experience in large and small organizations, being a chief executive and being a solo professional have all helped form my knowledge and awareness of the challenges faced by business owners and entrepreneurs. That keeps me grounded when we talk about what technology can do for your business.
And one of my early careers was as a high school teacher of English and History: if you’ve taught 14 and 15 year olds and survived, as I did, no crowd can frighten you. Since then I have had many years of experience in speaking to large and small groups, as well as training and facilitating.
My preference is to engage interactively with the audience or group, rather than to lecture. If that sounds like what you are looking for, drop me an email and we can see whether there’s a fit: deswalsh(at)gmail(dot)com.
I love presenting to conferences and groups. One-off presentations are fine. If you need a facilitator for a day or half a day, that’s even more attractive. .
Why not email or call me now for a chat about how I can be of service to your company?
