LinkedIn Bloggers Group is a forum for discussing how blogging and related technologies, such as podcasting, video blogging (vlogging)and wikis can support members’ professional networking using LinkedIn.
The group was established on the Yahoo! Groups platform early in 2005 by Vincent Wright, who subsequently handed responsibility for the group to founding moderator, Des Walsh.
Not long afterwards, we established also a LinkedIn Bloggers group on LinkedIn. At the time there was not the discussion functionality or other features now standard on LinkedIn Groups (actually it was at that time called “LinkedIn for Groups”, i.e. it was a kind of extended directory for groups of people on LinkedIn, but not interactive in the sense that LinkedIn Groups now are.)
The Yahoo! group has now been effectively mothballed. The archives are still there for the moment.
The group on LinkedIn is an open group. Group manager approval is necessary but is pretty much a matter of form.
Group managers are Des Walsh, Dennis McDonald and Robyn Tippins.
