It is true that Digital Ministry has been around for some time. There are similar job boards attached to MarketingMag.com.au, B&T and even AdNews. SocialMediaJobs.com.au, however, has a very niche focus ... and is seeking, quite simply, to serve as a connector between those who have social media-specific roles and those who are seeking them. I actually expect to see more niche job sites in the coming months ... and if they provide value to the communities that use them, then I also see that as a win all round. Thanks for the shout out, Des.

Teri

Thanks for the comment.

I must confess the Digital Ministry site was new to me. Have just had a look at it. Looks quite impressive. As I'm not in the job market and not hiring I tend not to be up with the job boards. I could not see a link there to a Facebook site and have been unsuccessful in a search for a group of that name on Facebook. You might like to share that.

My impression is that the sites are quite different in the market segments they are addressing and in their style. I think it's pretty clear that Social Media Jobs is focused, as the name indicates, on a particular niche, whereas Digital Ministry is clearly casting a much wider net in the digital industry.

I don't know of other sites that are focused on social media, apart from the blogger-focused ones I mention in the post. I hope you will share any you know of.

I suspect there is plenty of room for both sites - and more.

Hi Des

I had a look at this new site last week when it launched, very fledgling and new but good new addition.

DigitalMinistry have got the jump on this new offering in terms of following and numbers in Australia for their social media jobs listings on their own site and via their Facebook and feeds etc. Which doesn't mean that all newcomers aren't valuable, right now this is a brand-new service that will take some weeks and months to find its feet and join the local mix along with the ad mags and recruiters specialising in this market like Time and others.
