@Gavin
I hope you will do a post sometime on those younger people making their mark with blogging. Gary Vaynerchuk's keynote at BlogWorld & New Media Expo just over a week ago had us all totally engaged - what a force of nature!

@BL Fun definitely. Whenever I am finding it a stretch to write a post I try to remember to stop and remind myself that if I'm not enjoying it I'm not doing it right. Like life, I suppose :).

I definitely agree that it's not necessary to write a profound, intellectually challenging post every time. more important is engaging people who honor you by coming to your blog. and that involves providing information that informs, sometimes amuses, and in general talks about what they want to know.

Blogging, above all else, is fun, and that should really have been reason Number Ten.

THanks for the shout out!

I agree about blogging being a way of demonstrating and accelerating awareness within an industry. There are a good half dozen or so younger marketing/advertising people here in Australia who are doing exactly that -- using their blogs to promote and position their expertise.

Gary Vaynerchuck is a great example. And about a month or so ago, he encouraged all his viewers to find their passion, grab a webcam, and share their thoughts with the world. The challenge for most of us is to stay "on topic" and therefore relevant to our audience.
