Des - Many thanks for your commentary on the event. To start, I appreciate you highlighting the pricing notes. The WKF site has now been updated with the correct subsidized price of $200.

Our goal as volunteer organizers of this event was to create an event that really gives good insight into, and inspires debate on, the social web in Asia. We realized that the door price of $400 ($200 after subsidies) may appear low compared to other conferences, but really this was no good reason to put an artificially high price just for the 'name' value. As you indicate we know that the time invested in attending the conference is probably the most significant investment attendees will make and we are genuinely committed to ensuring that people get a good ROI on this time investment.

We have had a good response to the conference so far and are happy that people are impressed with our line up of speakers. We are working hard to ensure that attendees will benefit from the insight they can give.

We welcome any comments, ideas or suggestions either via this comment thread, via the www.openwebasia.com web site, or direct to myself.

I hope to meet you and many of your readers in Seoul on October 14.

Hi, I'm one of the organizer of Open Web Asia Conference 2008. Sorry for the confusing information. Actually, the registration fee of OpenWebAsia 2008 is $200 after subsidy by WKT. WKF also updated the registration page to provide consistent info already.
