@ Blogs DNA: I don't have any expertise in this matter - it does seem that there are people who make a business of buying and selling domain names. My suggestion is to do a search on some term such as "domain selling": you will find many sites dedicated to this and I wish you well in your endeavours.

@Kathie: I am 99% sure the buyer would have to get the site, not just the domain, to keep the PR (the 1% lack of sureness is because I don't claim superior knowledge here) - but I don't know why a PR of 2 or more would not have some value, in that the buyer can gain time by not having to sit it out in the Google sandbox or build that PR for herself or himself: makes sense to me and I hope to prospective buyers. If I were buying a domain which was attached to a site with an existing google PR of 2 or more I would on the face of things want the site, not just the domain. There are always exceptions, as in life . The handover is a bit more complicated because you have to transfer the site, with all the files and images, not just the domain.

Really? Google ranking helps to sell a domain? I've got one up for sale, 3/10 ranking but didn't think to advertise that. Existing site with a list also - I just don't have time to maintain it anymore. Perhaps I need to look more closely at how to promote the sale!
