From what I heard, I think the people on the panel would agree. Note the distinction that was made between search engine optimization and social media optimization. For some companies, getting on the first page of a Google search will be important and for others who may have a different customer focus, the first page of a Google Blog Search might be a higher priority. Or both could be relevant. What I got was that while the traditional press release is not dead the smarter companies will be maximizing what can be achieved through social media - probably &quot;as well&quot; rather than &quot;instead of&quot;.</description>

		<description>Des, thanks for the post. I agree with you that the audiences online are so diverse that 1 &#039;voice&#039; will not be enough to communicate the message. Here at PRWeb we encourage our users to use articles, podcasts, videos, etc. to reach THEIR audience. Many people I speak to everyday do not believe that the media is their #1 audience. They want to get in front of paying customers and be found on the 1st page of a Google search. Does the SMR meet those needs?</description>
