My equivalent to deswalsh.com is the Pacific Highlander blog. Only problem is that I don't have a lot of traffic there compared to some other sites I run. Maybe the solution is to have excerpts from this at the high traffic blog - raising awareness of the issues I'm blogging on and building traffic as well. I certainly understand your struggle. I started a second blog for the tech stuff but found that when I was writing about scifi, I was looking at religious themes in the the scifi so I never know where to post about scifi! Like you I try to develop a kind of policy to try and make the decision. The thing is that there is always one blog that you kind of work on and favour more than the others.
